General Electric is looking to build its new $1.2 billion electric cigarette plant in Indiana, a move that could further expand its business.
The company’s new plant would add to its current 1,300-acre electric cigarette manufacturing facility in South Carolina.
The plant would be one of three new facilities planned in the state, joining a new $600 million facility planned by the company in North Carolina and a $1 billion plant in the South.
General Electric currently has about 800 employees at its plant in Indianapolis.
Its plans for Indiana were first reported by Business Insider.
The new Indiana plant would create more than 100 jobs and help GE expand into a new market, according to the company.
The Indiana plant is expected to be up and running by the end of the year, General Electric said.
GE has been expanding in the United States and has more than 1,200 employees in the U.S.
