Walmart announced Monday that it has added electric heat pumps and heaters for its stores in the U.S. to help heat up the stores.
The announcement came a day after Walmart and the company’s suppliers began offering the new products at the company locations, which include the flagship Walmart in Bentonville, Ark.
The products are available through Walmart.com and Walmart.ca.
The company’s stores are open Monday through Thursday.
Walmart is not providing details on the products or when they will be available, although the company said they should be available “in the coming weeks.”
Walmart is also launching a website, Walmart.co.uk, where customers can find out more about the products.
Walmart is also working with local suppliers to create heat mats, heat mats for outdoor furniture and heat mats that are easy to install.
The heat mats are made of plastic that are insulated and heat up to about 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit (800 degrees Celsius).
The new heat pads are available in three sizes and are priced at $9.99 for two, $12.99 each for two and $15.99 per pad for two.
The store locations have no minimum purchase requirements for the heat mats.
The new heat mats can be purchased at Walmart.us and Walmart stores in Canada.
The heat mats come with a 2-year warranty and the heat pads come with three years of service.
Walton-based Walmart said it is working with suppliers to offer the new heaters and heat pads to customers.
